1. What is LeagueDaddy?
LeagueDaddy is an application service provider offering a web-based service for maintaining and tracking sporting leagues of all types. We recognized a need for this type of service after scouring the web looking for something to maintain our own league data, but finding nothing that suited our needs.
2. What benefits LeagueDaddy does offer?
The main benefits are ...
- Less work for the commissioner. One of the most time-consuming jobs for a commissioner is the constant updating of scores, standings and rankings. With LeagueDaddy, all scores, standings and stats are updated as soon as the team owner enters them.
- Real-time updates. As a regular league member, there is no longer any waiting for the commish to add up and sort the stats or update the standings. As soon as your fellow league members enter game scores and stats, the are all there for everyone to see.
- Customizability. The ability to customize your league is one of the primary goals. LeagueDaddy supports any number of teams, conferences, and/or divisions, custom teams, and custom stats.
3. Why did you create LeagueDaddy?
We play in leagues, both off-line and on-line, and we put together a quick site just to keep our standings and games up-to-date and easily accessible by everyone in the league. In the meantime, we continue to look long and hard for a service that provide more features. We simply could not find what we needed. Thus, the birth of LeagueDaddy.
4. How much does LeagueDaddy cost?
Introductory pricing information is available on the
subscription page. These are introductory prices, and depending on demand and hosting costs, may change at some point in the future.
5. LeagueDaddy really support any type of league?
Because of its broad customizability, LeagueDaddy will support any league with teams, players, games, and game dates which applies to most team sports. There are options to adjust and fine-tune LeagueDaddy for particular sports.
6. Is LeagueDaddy finished?
No. We will continue to update and enhance LeagueDaddy. Since we are using LeagueDaddy for our own league tracking, we'll continue to add features as we see the need, and as we receive requests. Our priority will be the features that are requested the most.
7. More questions?
If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to
contact us.
2 - Subscriptions
8. How do I host my league on LeagueDaddy?
You need to purchase a subscription for each league you want to host on LeagueDaddy. Visit

When you are ready to purchase a subscription for your league, first make sure you are registered as a LeagueDaddy user, then log in and visit the
subscription page.
After you've selected the options you need for your league, continue to finish the process and subscribe via
PayPal.
9. How many team and player stats will I need for my league?
A base subscription will allow up to 40 teams, up to 20 team stats
per team, and up to 40 player stats
per team. Please note that you don't need a team stat for each team.
10. How can I make sure I don't have any outstanding LeagueDaddy subscriptions?
11. How many seasons can my league run during my subscription period?
There is no limit to the number of seasons a league can run. A season is defined by the schedule for your league, and schedules are totally customizable for each league.
3 - Commissioner Usage
12. How do I update my teams rosters?
You have two options:
1) A league owner can import rosters from other leagues. Go to the [ Rosters ] page for your league, and
if you are the league owner there will be an [ Import ] option above the player list. Select that option, then choose another league from which you want to import rosters, then follow the instructions. You have the flexibility to only import selected teams, and players will not be duplicated if they already exist on the team.
2) You can use the [ Update … Rosters ] links on the [ Rosters ] page to update your league rosters with the current rosters from the actual leagues.
13. Can a league have co-commissioners?
Yes. Whoever creates the league initially is the league owner and commissioner. He can designate any number of league members to be co-commissioners. Co-commissioners have the same privileges as the league owner/commissioner, except that by default they are unable to perform any deletions although they can still edit items.
Please be extremely careful about who you trust to be a commissioner. A commissioner can do irreparable damage to your league. Please don't let make a member a commissioner unless you know them very well and ARE SURE they can be trusted.
14. Can I keep owners from entering game data for past or future games?
Yes. If you are a commissioner you can
lock past or future game dates (weeks, etc.). Go to
[ Configure Schedule ] and click
[ Edit ] next to a game date. Turn on the
Locked option for the date.
15. How do I add news items to the front page?
If you are a commissioner for your league, you should see a [ More… ] link on the right side of the page. While on your league home page, click this to 'turn on' editing for the news section. After you have completed editing this section, click [ Hide Admin ].
The rules allow formatting with
bbcode.
(This method of editing the news section is going to be updated to make it more user-friendly.)
16. How do I add teams to a conference without any divisions?
Create or select the conference you want to use, then add a special division to the conference with a single dash (-) as the division name.
In the Conference/Division dropdown list when editing a team under [ Configure Teams ], the conference name wil be one of the options.
17. How do I change my league from one sport to another sport?
There are two options:
- The first is to change everything about the league yourself, by changing team names, changing the rosters, changing the divisions, conferences, stats, etc. to match the new sport. This is all very doable but will just take time.
- A second way is to ask LeagueDaddy support (support@leaguedaddy.com) to re-create the league using the new sport template. This will be much faster, but the disadvantages are that:
- Your owners will have to rejoin the league
- You will lose any archived seasons
If you are sure you want to re-create the league contact support, and we will delete your current league and re-enable the key you used to create your league initially.
3 - Usage
18. How do I join a league on LeagueDaddy?
First, you need to register as a member of LeagueDaddy. Next, you need to contact your league commissioner for the password of your league. Finally, log in and click on
[ Join League ], then choose the league you want to join and enter the password given you by your commissioner.
You can also post your information on the
support forums under
League Central. There are usually leagues looking for owners and owners looking for leagues.
19. How do I add pre-season games?
- Add a new game date in [ Configure Schedule ]. Name the game date anything you like (the text in the 'new game date' field is just a suggestion). Move the game date to the top of the schedule (well, you don't have to but, typically that's where you'd want a pre-season game).
- Click [ Edit ] next to the new pre-season game date you just added, and then check the box next to 'Pre-season'. Click 'Save' to save the game date.
- Repeat the previous steps for each pre-season game date you need to add.
- To display pre-season standings and stats, go to [ League Settings ] and set the 'Pre- or regular season display' to 'Pre-season'. Click 'Save'.
- When you're ready to start your regular season, go to [ League Settings ] again and set the option back to 'Regular season'.
20. I don't want to receive an email everytime someone in my league updates a score. How do I stop them?
Go to your profile settings and turn off email notifications.
21. How do I put pictures in the game recaps?
The recaps and news sections use 'bbcode'.
Here's how to put an image in your summaries using bbcodes:[img]http://www.nfl.com/somepic.jpg[/img]Here's how to put links in your summaries:[url=http://www.leaguedaddy.com]LeagueDaddy[/url]Here are some sample game summaries[1],[2] with pictures.

[2] Here's a more complicated one with a table to put a caption under the photo:
http://www.leaguedaddy.com/leagues/schedule/date/gamestats.asp?lid=218&did=548&gid=455 | | Kansas City tight end Tony Gonzalez dunks the football over the crossbar after scoring an 11-yard touchdown catch in the 4th quarter to give the Chiefs a 21-17 lead. | Chiefs Sneak Past Bills Chiefs down 0-14, come from behind to win Game starts out slow, with neither team able to convert on 3rd down. Finally, the Bills make an 11 play drive, grounding it out with Henry to take a lead midway through the 2nd quarter. Bills 7 - Chiefs 0. KC gets the ball back and is still unable to make any progress. Next series, Bledsoe hits Moulds on a beautiful 48 yard play action pass for a TD. Bills 14 - Chiefs 0.
KC gets the ball back with 3 minutes left in the half, throws out the running game, and moves the ball quickly down the field and Holmes jukes his way in to break the scoring drought for the Chiefs. But, Buffalo wastes no time in scoring again, as Lindell knocks in a 43 yard FG to end the half. Bills 17 - Chiefs 7
The second half was a different story. KC moves down the field converting on some key 3rd downs. While Priest Holmes is taking a breather, RB Larry Johnson busts a 51 yard scoring run to bring KC to within 3. Bills 17 - Chiefs 14.
Buffalo is unable to move the ball on their next series, and a good punt return by Dante Hall gives KC a short field. Green hits Tony Gonzalez in the corner of the endzone from the 11 yard line to put the Chiefs ahead for good. Final: Chiefs 21 - Bills 17 |

22. What is BB code, or bbcode?
BB code is the system by which users can add basic formatting to their posts. A bbcode is similar to an HTML tag except that it uses square brackets instead of angle brackets. Here are some examples:
[color=purple][size=4][b]bold[/b][size][color] results in:
bold purple text
[color=red][size=4][b][font=Times New Roman]Times New Roman[/font]
[font=Comic Sans MS]Comic Sans MS[/font][/b][/size][/color] results in:
Times New Roman
Comic Sans MS
Here are the bbcodes that LeagueDaddy currently supports:
b, u, i - Bold, underscore, and italics
h1, h2, h3, h4, h5 - HTML header tags
img - Images. You can also use 'align=left' or 'align=right' inside the opening img tag to position the image relative to its surrounding text.
Example: [img align=left]http://www.leaguedaddy.com/someimage.gif[/img]
url - Hyperlinks. Examples: [url]http://www.leaguedaddy.com[/url] or [url=http://www.leaguedaddy.com]LeagueDaddy[/url]
color - Text color. Examples: [color=red]Warning![/color]
size - Text size. Examples: [size=4]Large font[/size]
font - Font name. Examples: [font=Times New Roman]Times New Roman Font here[/font]
pre, quote, br, table, tr, td, th, p, div, span, ol, ul, li, blockquote - Other standard HTML tags
(line breaks) - Although this isn't a formatting code, it is important to note that linebreaks in the text are preserved in the resulting HTML.
sound - Here's an example of embedding sound in a sound file:
[embed src="http://www.wavevents.com/MyFilez/wavs/variety/mnf.wav" width=0 height=0 autostart="true" loop="true"][/embed]
comments - To comment out sections of your text with <!-- and --> use [comment] ... [/comment]
glow - [glow=red] ... [/glow] Example: [glow=red][size=4]glowing red text[/size][/glow] glowing red text
flash - Examples:
[flash bgcolor=#FFFFFF WIDTH=561 HEIGHT=352]http://www.flashadvisor.com/movie/swf/jigsaw_bnd_ekren_238.swf[/flash]
